Default Parachute Hackles

We all have our own methods and quirky ways. I have just added a SBS to the River Fly Box for the approach I use to tying parachute hackles:

River Fly Box, tying the parachute emerger, klinkhamer

Thanks Dave, I've not tried it that way, but have a load of klinks to do over the coming weeks so will try that method out.

Cheers
Ben

Dave, this has really helped me. I have tied parachute hackles in my own way previously but they have never looked particularly neat. I had a go at finishing off round the post last night with mixed results but have done much better tonight. I finally cracked it by not using a tool and completing with three half hitches, and by doing that did not ruin the hackle.
Cheers,
Dave.

That's great. The secret is to keep practising and then move on to getting the whip-finish sorted under the hackle. Once you've got it nailed, you'll wonder why you every struggled.

Hope to see some photos of your flies soon. If you need any more help, just shout.

Cheers,

Beautiful tyings as always Dave, and thank you for sharing this great technique!
Is it advisable to tye/wind the hackle shiny side down?
