Default Doobry Snatcher

Due to the Snatcher request a couple of days ago I decided to list one of my favourites. Since I did the article on the snatchers a few years ago in Trout Fisherman Magazine this one along with the Kate version I featured has produced the goods. Repeat orders show how deadly this pattern has become. Variant with glo-brite No 8 butt has also been worth having in your box.

THREAD: UNI 8/0 RED
HOOK: KAMAZAN B110 OR FULLING MILL EQUIV, SIZE 10 - 14
BUTT: GLO-BRITE FLOSS NO 4
RIB: FINE GOLD WIRE
BODY: FLAT GOLD TINSEL (HOLO GOLD ALSO EFFECTIVE
BODY HACKLE: BLACK METZ SADDLE HACKLE
HEAD HACKLE: FIRE ORANGE HEN BADGER
CHEEKS: JUNGLE C*CK

PLACE HOOK IN VICE AND CATCH IN THREAD

Really Nice Fly there, I've never fished a snatcher, how would I go about doing so?

What self respecting trout could refuse such a nice fly.BTW where did you get the FIRE ORANGE HEN BADGER or did you dye it yourself?

Very nice tying Gerry of one of my favourite patterns.

Got one of those hen capes off you some time back and it was perfect for them.

I have notice this on the 3 "snatcher" flies being posted: why is the hackle palmered from eye to bend vs bend to eye???

This is the traditional way of tying palmered hackles over here flytire, you use the ribbing to tie down the hackle.
