Heres another bloodworm The pics don't do the fly justice the larva lace makes the body look translucent. You see it better in the humblefishermans video on youtube.

Hook: B100
Thread: Uni 8/0 fire orange
Body: Red glo-bright floss then larva lace
Thorax: Peacock Herl
Bead: Red glass bead


Step 1: Put bead on hook and start thread.



Step 2: Tie in some larva lace at the bend of the hook.



Step 3: Catch in glo-bright and form body then tie off.



Step 4: Wrap larva lace up body and tie it off.



Step 5: Catch in 3 peacock herls and twist into rope.



Step 6: Wind the herl on then tie it off and whip finish and thats the fly done.

Being a novice at this tying mallarky , why would you put peacock herl in a bloodworm ..

for some reason fish seem to like peacock hurl
its used in a lot of tying
i use it on a lot of my buzzers
so to answer your question its a very good fly tying material that attracts fish

the only comment i have is to use the smallest diameter of larva lace for the body and to tie it in behind the bead. pull the lace tight to stretch it as you wind your thread back to the bend of the hook. then pull on the lace to stretch it as you wind the lace to the eye of the hook. tying in behind the bead will eliminate any bumps in the body that shows in the fly you tied.

Good advice from flytire. I do the same when creating some of my buzzers. The piece of advice I will add is that you need good quality Larva Lace or Body so you can stretch it thin. One good one I have found is Semtex from Flybox.
If you varnish the head or body test on the Larva lace first as sometimes you get a reaction and it melts with your buzzer coming apart like a coiled spring.
