Default Foam Beetle ~ Step by Step

Here's some photographic step by step instructions for tying a Foam Beetle that I use regularly.

Hook - B170 Size 12,14,16
Thread - Black
Body - Peacock Herl
Back and Thorax - Cylindrical Foam
Legs - Black Hen Hackle
Feelers - 2 x Black Goose Biots

Hi Pint:
I now tie them with black micro fritz bodies and either black hippy fritz (celtic flycraft) or a few turns of black emu hackle for legs..
makes the legs more distinct.
