I came across this in Patsy Deery's 'Irish Mayflies' book, I did tie up some for Lough Corrib, but never got to try them out. I think it looks a cracker of a fly and I'll be giving it a go on the river or lough as soon as I get a chance. According to Mr. Deery, the tail can be either moose body or natural deer hair, and the wing can be either moose or sable, I've used moose for both.

HOOK – Kamasan B170 Sz 10 - 12.
THREAD – Brown Benecchi 8/0.
TAIL – Moose Body.
BODY – Half And Half Yellow And Medium Olive Seals Fur.
WING - Moose Body.
HACKLE – Grizzle Saddle Dyed Yellow.

STEP 1

Catch thread on and trim the waste.

STEP 2
Catch in a bunch of moose hair with loose turns first so it doesn't flair, tighten the warps when you have it in position.

STEP 3
Trim the waste hair and secure the tail in place with a few more tight wraps, bring the thread to the mid point between hook point and eye.
