I was trying to work out the code without using the tool bar Got it !!

if you have the url address (image must be online somewhere, not on a computer) with img at the beginning and /img at the end (brackets [ ] intentionally omitted) all you have to do is copy/cut and paste into the posts message.

That does not appear to work on here. I tried it with the picture above, but all I got was a link to the photo between two [img]s. I think you have to use the insert image facility, but I could well be doing something wrong myself.
