Default Claret Hopper

A nice generic fly that I find works equally well for daddies or sedge. Its not one of my best tyings but you should at least get the gist of whats going on.

The audio isn't the best as I can't find my mic and had to record the audio using my phones voice recorder function.

I had to start a new youtube channel as I somehow broke my last one when I tried to change the email account it was associated with

Thanks for watching

Nice video, Roll Cast and a good addition to the library.

I'm curious as to why you tie the legs so high - almost like a wing? (I've always tied mine parallel to the body or even slightly downwards). Is the idea for the hopper to sit in the film like an emerger?

I find that after the fly has been fished for a few casts that the legs decide to go in various directions and normally end up streamlined along the body of the fly.

Thats nice RC, bodies a bit chunky but thats not a problem, i prefer my hoppers sparsely dressed if i fish them on the point and osmetimes trim the hackle at the bottom and fish size 14s, 2/3 turns of hackle, then put a normal hopper in the middle, size 12, maybe 4/5 turns, then o the top fish a size 10, 6/7/8 turns of hackle and very very very very slowly figure of wight it so the top dropper creates a small wake, do this and youll be on course to catch some fish, not bad fly mate
