Default Blue spey sewin fly, step by step

Here is a step by step, of a fly i use for sewin / salmon fishing.

Place the hook in vise, here i am using a size 3 Alex Jackson.
Click the image to open in full size.
Now tie in thread, and run back to point of hook. i am using Danville 140 denier white,

Now tie in the oval tinsel, for butt.

Here i have done, four turns of oval and tie off.

Now i run thread back up, and tie in blue floss. this is for the tag,

Here you can see tag finished,

Now here i tie in the oval rib, and holographic silver tinsel. for rear body,

Here you can see, the finished rear body.

Now i have cleaned up tying, and tied in the rib for forward body.

Now we tie in the silver doctor blue saddle hackle,

Here i have split the 140 thread, and put dubbing in thread.

Here i have spun thread, to lock in dubbing. then wound on the dubbing on forward body,

Now we run the oval rib over the dubbing, and follow with hackle tight behind the rib.

Here i have cleaned up around the head,

Here i change the thread, to Danville 70 denier red. and tie in a collar of Guinea fowl dyed,

Now it's time to tie in the wing, here i am using swan shoulder. but goose shoulder will do,

Now we trim the wing,

Now tie in the cheeks, here i have use Jungle cock dyed hot yellow.

And here is the finished fly,
