As I said it is a Quebec pattern.
Devised by Leo Ruelland then proprietor of the 'Horse Island' camp on the Grand Cascapedia.
He took four fish over 40 lb on this fly on 'his' water. Last count was in 1992 so perhaps he had more; as the next owners - Herb & Delores Roth continued to invite him to fish.
A friend of a friend took one of 31 lb from Little Jonathan Pool on Middle Camp's water; loosing a 40 - 50 pounder hooked in Morency Pool.
All on a #6 Ruelland Special.
It is said that Leo wished he'd never devised the pattern, so deadly had it become.
Perhaps a reason it's not widely available.
I've certainly never seen one; and it's hard to imagine from the dressing list alone.
