Tie thread onto hook and 4 strands of pheasant tail for the tail

tie on copper wire

tie on 3/4 strands of pheasant tail and wrap around the hook to make your body

wrap copper wire around body to make ribbing effect

tie on neon flash before thorax

tie on hares ear for thorax and then fold neon flash over the top of your thorax/hares ear and whip finish off

Very nicely done!

I've just noticed this step-by-step and would just like to add that i tie my PTN's almost exactly the same as this. My biggest wild brownies from the Eden this year all came on size 14 copper-headed versions of PTN's just like this.

cheers pensioner i really like this pattern and use it for most of my nymphing the other one which i also use is the the simple nymph which has caught me a shed load of fish this season and my pb 4lb wbt

Cracking fly Daniel , I tie the same but I use a 2mm copper tungsten bead and use the same Mirage/Pearl over the Thorax...very affective Nymph
