waa i just spent ages putting up my pics (10 in total) and then it says your only allowed four !!!

i'll put up the four main ones so you can get the idea

better idea. i'll do it over 3 or 4 posts instead !!!

Right I’ve had some practice so this should be better (fingers crossed)

Connemara Black
Hook - Hyabusa #10
Tail: G.P. Crest
Body: Black Seals fur or black fur sub
Rib: Silver Wire
Throat Hackle: Blur Guinea Fowl or Blue Jay
Wing: Bronze Mallard or sub


Wind on a body of thread in touching turns

Tie in a tail of golden pheasant crest

Now tie in a rib of silver wire

Dub on some Black Seals Fur - i have used a sub because i dont have any real stuff left

Wind up your dubbed fur to make the body

make the fly more secure by winding your rib in nice open turns

now for the part that sticks!!!
put the vice upsides-down (you know what i mean) and tie in a throat hackle of blue guinea fowl or blue jay

Now for the wing. Take a bunch of bronze mallard - i didnt have any so i used teal dyed brown
Tie in the wing

Whip Finish and Varnish and there you go

Do use jay if you can,I catch much better with the real thing ,done the dyed grizzle,guinea fowl even hair hackles and the jay just works much better !

I *think* I've just altered the setting to allow up to 20 images per message.

i use blue jay when i can as i feel that guinea fowl - while a good sub doesnt seem quite right.

where to start , point for seatrout on river and lake ,point or middle dropper for lake/ reser trouting
