Default paraloop step by step

Materials.

Hook size twenty upwards the gauge dictates what pattern you want to create.
Rib Pearl flash or any other you desire.
Body Rabbit or hare for this fly but experiment with different dubbings.
Hackle Any good quality red game or other .
Thorax mix in a small pinch of orange seals fur into the rabbit fur.

Step by step.
(1) Tie in a strand of pearl flash or other material for the rib .
(2) Dub on some rabbit or hares fur for the body and wind up the hook with a slight taper
(3) Wind up pearl flash for the rib
(4) Tie in a good quality hackle for the hackle brush.
(5) loop the tying thread onto the gallows tool and back onto the hook ,about two to three turns .
(6) Wind the hackle up the thread and back down and tie off .
(7) Stroke all the hackle fibres back
8) Dub on some orange dubbing and create the thorax.
(9) Pull the hackle brush down on top of the thorax stroking the fibres back and tie down , whip finish and varnish

Interesting. If I follow your instructions properly, that's not a "proper" paraloop but it seems to work and looks nice.

This thread demonstrates the paraloop in good detail.

It is a 'proper' paraloop! Roy Christie's method, (link via stevekale), is his own, unique method of using mono as loop to support the hackle winds. The effect being a circular para hackle. The 'proper' paraloop method produces a hackle profile where the hackle fibres stand out laterally to the body, as in freelander's example.
