Quite a few people have been requesting tying for a Baby Doll over the past year, so I thought I'd put one up.

Must Admit I still use the undertaker fly quite a lot (Similar to the baby doll) and i take lots more fish on it than using say a black fritz lure. Maybe its just me who feels more confident with the pattern having used it for years now.

Confidence is the key Pint, I also agree about the Undertaker, it can be absolutely deadly, regardless of how "synthetic" it looks, (aren't many flies "synthetic" ???) both it and the Baby Doll are always in my box.

I have also had great success with a #12 Peach baby doll for wild browns at the back end of the season normally in a good wave on the point behind a bushy bob fly through the wind lanes, magic

Back in the early 1970's I tied many 100s of B/Dolls, the most popular one by far then was like the all white one displayed but with one turn of wool wrapped over the tail joint , to hide and protect it and a short throat hackle made from the brightest orangey pink nylon wool you could find.

Most anglers then preferred them to be tied on silvered hooks, so it was either Edgar Sealy's Octopus hooks or Mustad 79582N's.
