Hello everybody,
before you can make this one there is some preliminary work to be done :
http://www.flyforums.co.uk/fly-tying...ra-bodies.html
Now the worst is over

, here is one of the flies I make with it. Please forgive me for the bad quality of the photos, but I just bought a new camera and I'm still struggling with it. As I promised to post this fly a long time ago, this couldn't wait (will update the pictures when I achieve better quality).
The choice of the hook is important for this type of fly. Firstly because the weight ratio to the fly size will determine whether your fly sits up right in the surface (don't worry, it'll catch lying on a side, too). And secondly because I like the hook bend to blend in with the mirror image of the body and vice versa.
Once the body has been tied on the hook (Kamasan B 100 n° 14), colour it with indelible marker and tie in the hackle. Thread is Uni-nylon 70 denier.
Then tie in two CDC feathers as a wing (concave sides against each other).
And then turn the hackle behind and in front of the wing. Make a head and a finishing knot and dye it with the marker. Put some varnish on and go fishing.
Tight lines,
Johan
