I like how the hackle supports the heaviest part of the hook, the bend. Also i like how the shank is sunk so that the tippet close to the fly is submerged. Do you ever use a wing post for this style Roy?

i'm not a fly tyer, but just a quandry here:

Would it be better to tie this on a wide gape hook, thus avoiding the hook slipping?

no problems with slipping hooks here. the fish take them quite positively.

I don't know how they missed it, Christian; thank you for pointing out the omission.

This fly is for Casting for Recovery though so it's truly girliepink.


I am well thanks, recovering well, got the use of my arms back, am back at work, tying a fly, all good
