Rough up the body with some Velcro I like how the antron gives a nice scruffy yet thin body.

Palmer it down the body and rib up with oval tinsel.

Tie in a brown hen hackle

Take 2-3 turn of hackle dependant on how you want the fly to look. I like this to be a good bushy for stripping during a sedge hatch. Then whip finish and varnish the head. Job done

Hope you enjoy

Al, it should be hen for the head hackle, and oval silver (or I'd let you off with wire) for the rib... otherwise your post should have been entitled 'Kate McLaren Variant'

Right then will go and fix it after I get my technology homework, 3 a3 pages of concept sketch for a project I don't even make? My first words when the teacher set it, What the Hell.

The technology, I don't want to have repeat it twice for not having it done well enough.

A nice 'sparse' looking pattern that un!! The ones I used to use on 'Loch of the lowes' were a tad heavier.. a brilliant pattern!!

I concur, Rob:
A better version:
Hook: B160 size 6
Thread: Black
Tail: Sunburst marabou and a few strands of yellow FAP flash
Body: Mosaic Chennille
Hackle: Orange Psuedo hackle.

Now We Are Talking!
