Default Tungsten shrimp bodies

I am now offering tungsten shrimp bodies in four sizes S,M,L,XL to fit hooks #10-16. These are in a plane tungsten finish and are slotted so they can be glued onto the hook. They can also be tied on by running tying thread over the ribs. These add much more weight for hook size than putting a bead head on and give a pleasing body shape for imitating shrimps.

Technical description
Small :- Average weight = 200 mg, Length = 6.9mm, Width = 2.1mm, Height = 1.7 mm
Med :-Average weight = 400 mg, Length = 8 mm, Width = 2.6mm, Height = 2.2mm
Large:-Average weight = 660 mg, Length = 9 mm, Width = 3mm, Height = 2.7 mm
X-Large:-Average weight = 950 mg, Length = 10 mm, Width = 3.5mm, Height = 3.1mm

I am selling at £2 per 10. Postage free on orders over £10 (£1.29 otherwise ) - can be added to orders for beads from my tungsten bead post.

The photo below shows the four sizes of shrimp body with hooks in size 12, 14 and 16.

A serious question - How do shrimp swim? By that, I mean what is their attitude in the water.

The reason I ask is that these bodies will surely make the flies swim upside down as all of the weight is on top of the hook. This will be great for avoiding hookups on snags, but not, I guess, for looking natural.

Hi

Yes they do swim upside down. Doesn't seem to bother the trout though- maybe they see them as distressed shrimps!

I'll get back with weights for the different sizes later on tonight.

Default Weights of shrimp bodies

OK, I've edited the first post to include the weights and measurements of the different sized shrimp bodies. I've also annotated the picture.

The freshwater gammarus 'shrimp' that predominate in the UK aren't actually shrimp at all - merely a distant relative.

They swim sideways.
