Default Bead sizes

This probably has been debated before but I've just been lookin on ebay and saw some nice lookin rainbow beads ! I thought these might make a nice new range of flies to tie over the winter months, I normally use size 10/12 traditional wet fly hooks ~ what size of bead would you recommend to suit these hooks ? I was thinkin a 3mm bead would do both sizes of hook ???
