Exclamation A huge 'thumbs up' to/for Grommit.

Amazing stuff you folks have for fly tieing not seen here on 'our fair shores.' Or if it's here, it's a total bit ch to find!

The 'search' started off from a thread about (if memory serves) a 'Glo-Brite yarn' fly exchange ... and I did a what the heck is that? Google is good! Ooooooooooooooo, that I've got to get me some (actually a lot) of that stuff. But where?

Post put me on to Ian and off we go (turns out he has other stuff I wanted but forgot to add to my original order, but more later on that). Buying on line has never been one of my strong points unless its just a few bits .. read that I didn't have the brains God gave a Nat to write it down before I ordered ...) So, PM'ed Grommit (had no idea if he had a web site/under what name) and up she pops in a response PM. A good thing.

Worse yet, I lost the information and had to do all that stuff a second time. (Ian must have the Patience of Job.) Here it's called a "Sr. Moment" for the purposes of Political Correctness. Get the contact info and off we go to his web site and we're back to a Oooooooooo!

Place order, hit 'send' and another 'Ah Sh it!' Forgot another chunk of stuff a wanted. E-mailed Ian and asked if I had to place another order or could he just add the other 'stuff' to the one I'd just placed.

His response: (Good Man!)

"Hi Fred

Just email me what colours in the chenille you need and I can add it to the order. No extra postage charge for you and I will deduct the VAT** from the order

Best Wishes

Ian"

**For context, if I'm ordering from a Country with a VAT, 95% of the time it's not applicable and subtracted from the bill.

This Guy is too cool; my response was just send me everything you've got that matches up with the 'floss' on my original order. Fellow knows what I want/need, no problem letting him 'do his thing,' just a bigger bag/box necessary to send over to the deepest/darkest parts of Oar-E-Gone.

God how I LOVE working with folks like this; it JUST WORKS!

Ian is one of those who gives you faith in your local tackle dealer, and seeing as t'internet is worldwide, it kinda makes him local everywhere.

Fred , Ian is not one of my regular go toos, but have had a great deal from him in the past , I know you sing the praises of fly fish usa , you should be mentioning Poppy at the redshed too ,fabby service on things we cant get over here ,and a pleasure to deal with too !
Funnily was having a beer with O'Reilly late this week and noticed a strong visual resemblance too Poppy !

Default Good point Andy, but indeed I have ..

on several occasions.

None of these guys could be classified as huge 'E-tailers,' well FFusa may well be the exception, but "you call, they haul!"
