That looks just the job for sea trout. Nice tying.

It has been stated that we should be using a sub' for blue jay as its numbers are threatened?
Dyed guinea fowl of dyed grizzle hen being the prefered options.
Has anyone any data on this as I dont know if this is correct.

I don't know about jays being endangered but I do remember someone (Hans?) posting a fly on here tied with blue dyed grey partridge. It looked a much better sub for blue jay than dyed guinea fowl or dyed grizzle hen to my eye.

Steve Cooper does dyed blue partridge, a turn of silver/grey partridge wound before (behind) the dyed blue looks even better.

A great looking bumble.

Magenta is one of them colours that will pull a rabbit out of the hat when all else fails.

I was responsible for the Magenta Bumble appearing in T&S.

I normally don't use subs but if you had seen the pattern working on Arkaig, you wouldn't doubt it.

You don't move a lot of fish on Arkaig and when your ghillie gives you a fly which has just nailed a 7lb brown/ferox, you don't examine the dressing and criticise it, believe me!
