Stop moaning and go and fish it Danny it will catch I don't take the foam to the front as its a pain in the **** hackling over it and it does not catch any less.

Look well tied. I personally would like the bodies a little thinner, but they will catch just the same.

Make the legs REALLY long.

The abdomen should be narrow at the tip, widen rapidly and then steadily narrow again. Manage by stretching the foam, then less stretch, then more again.

Wings are relatively short. No longer than the body. (Steve Thornton doesn't bother with the wings, arguing that the legs are the trigger point.)

Here's a pic off the net to show the proportional length of the legs.

Are you tying to be arty or tying to catch fish? If you're tying to catch fish, drop the rib, drop the wings, thin the hackle, use 8 single strand legs, use co-poly leader, job done.
