Default First Go At A Detached Body ( A Daddy Pattern )

I asked today about how to make a detached body . So once I had the answer I had a go , with foam first , will try a deer hair one later ...

I have no idea about what proportions it should be and how the wings should be ?? I have done them going slightly back rather than out at right angles , is this right ??

Anyway here it is ............

Sorry about pic , just took a quick snap with flash ...

Cheers

Nice tying , you have the technique down pat.. on a constructive note, if i was attempting to imitate the natural i would have gone slimmer on the abdomen and gone darker in colour.

edit... having just looked at photos i would maybe retract the colour bit, it seems there is quite a bit of variation between cram and dark brown...

I agree 100 % with that , was not happy with it the fly as soon as I finished it . Thing is when tying the first one is hard to judge/guess how the over all finished fly will look .
