Default First Attempt at Catskill Dry.

Heres my first at tying a Catskill style dry fly with a biot body, hope I got something right on it.

The wing is bronze mallard just a bunch of the barbs from the tipa of the feathers left over from wet fly wings.

Basically a good bit of work. The hook choice is an odd one, it looks like an emerger hook. Either that or you've taken the body a bit too far round the bend. The hackle is a touch too long and too dense, maybe a couple of turns fewer each side of the wing. The wing itself is a bit sparse, it wouldn't look out of place though if the hackle was equally sparse.

Like I say, basically pretty good, just a bit of attention to detail needed.

Also, worth concentrating on where the tail fibres ended up relative to the hook shank. Ideally they should sit on top. Adjust for thread torque so you start with them on your side, use the shank as a buffer and the thread to roll them to the top.
