Default Single Plume Tip - Jeremy Lucas

Recently incorporated the stripped quill into my JT Olives and like the effect. However, have been having hassles with my JT Olives sinking, as per other thread.

Has anyone tried this pattern an does it stay afloat long ?

I tried them and even with treatments of watershed or permafloat they sank pretty quickly. I generally use them with 2 feathers and reserve them for target fishing for rising fish. I still dry them out after every few casts but its not such a bother if you are doing it while scanning the water for rising fish or covering water that you know normally holds fish. I don't find them much good for general search fishing.

Perhaps it would be helpful if you posted a pic of your tying

if it sinks, it sinks mate.. if youv tried floatant and it sinks, it sinks!
to float a fly with ONE plume is ridiculous.. unless the hooks made of foam
or its a size 28 its not happening.. so bottom line
theres no point in trying to skimp on CDC

stevekale,

I tried posting a pic in another thread a while ago. It was a disaster. I tried to follow the instructions someone kindly posted for my benefit but it (I) was still c**p.
