I use a plastic, two tier hobby box, 11cm x 21cm, bought from 'The Range'.
Think it cost a couple of quid, does the job for me.

Is there a B&M near you? If so they do a nice little 2 plastic hobby drawer. Perfect size to store thread spools. Will hold unithread spools on thier side in 3 rows. The depth is just enough to have the spools on thier ends. Easily stores 20 spools per drawer.

I made little dividers for the drawers and they are very handy. Drawer can be lifted out and set on desk with a very small footprint aswell.

Here they are on ebay but they only cost £2 in B&M.

Cheaps stuff at even cheaper prices! Can't beat it. Everytime I go in I look for something that could be used for fishing even if not really targeted at them. They have lamps with a beautiful irridesant plastics protective cover on them. Been looking for an excuse to get one just so I could liberate the disposable plastic!

They took over the old Woolworths store in Penrith, and are doing very well.
I go in for nothing, and come out with loads.
