Default Cdcs

Hello All, for the last 3 months I've been tying Cdcs and fishing them and also in heavy swells on average I've had at least 8 takes per visit to them but much more on the boat and it has changed my view as to what and why the fish are taking, when no fly was visible on the water they were coming to my fly which I've changed the colours and doubled the length of the Cdc feather x 5 plumes and on size 10 hooks. here are some that I've tied and tried.

Nice I really like the body material on the top one. What is it if you don't mind.

Hello palindromic bob, it's a gold holographic but it's got an olive colour running through it so I put a light olive seals fur in the thorax and this has accounted for a good number of fish, this has been a good one for me, the gold holo was bought at a game fair.

Looks great. I tied some of these tonight one with checks made from the holographic seal from a golden virginia tobacco packet but they don't look anywhere near as nice.

Hello splashtestdummy, 30 yrs ago I was playing with silver holographic which I bought from Calabra's in the U.S.A. I even used a microscope to study the changing colours in feather's with day light, what I found was the silver holo matched with peacock hurl so I tied this.A simple fly that all my mates wanted but it was tied to catch 1 fish only. I think the blending of colours in our dressings will increase but it's getting it right for the different waters that we fish. 12weeks ago I started tying bright colours such as fluorescents in the thorax such as red glow bright and a black body which I varnish twice.
Today I bought a new colour it's pearl, yellow, gold and olive mixed together very thin but when it's doubled or trebled it's bright but when I first tied it to-day it was mint green which was rubbish so I tied a silver body on first then wrapped the new material over it which was unbelievable, when strong winds came on my fishery I would stop fishing dry, now I don't I just gink the Cdc up and keep fishing the rough water. splash and palindromic bob PM me with your N&Address I'll keep you sweet.

Robbie

Hello corky, yes that Gink comes in a plastic bottle it's thick when it comes out, I think it's called Gehrkes Gink Floater and I only use the natural feather when tying.
