Here's the latest manifestation of an idea I've been fooling around with, on and off for a couple of years now. 'Could have fooled me' I hear you say! Quite

For a good while it was one of those ideas that you just can't seen to reconcile in fur and feather.... great in the head, sh!t on the hook. I showed a couple of 'prototypes' to Alex (Midlander), who curled his lip, in his own inimitable style, and asked me what my thinking was...... good question; good point. "Nothing in particular. Probably just an excuse to get some of that lovely Macaw, that cost me a fortune, on a bloody hook!" The pattern languished in the corner of my fly box for a season or two, never really yelling at me that today was its day. Anyway, some time last season, Party Boy (Wee Jimmy) was giving me a report on one of his Lomond Sea-Trout missions. It reminded me that the Lomond fish have a wee penchant for yellow, or so I'd heard, and that 'nothing in particular, with a bit of yellow, and a bit of Macaw thrown in', might just tempt a Sea-Trout or two. I tweaked the pattern with some yellow grizzle hen, and sent them up to Jim for his next Lomond trip.... and guess what?
