Default Sedge pupa advice

I've started to get to know a new river recently, spending more time on it.

It's bound to have some decent fish, what with the many pinhead fry i saw at my feet, plentiful fly life, including a dead/drowned sedge pupa that washed up on my waders the other day.

As a repetitive fisherman who does the same thing too often ( goldhead nymph, dries ( really only 3 patterns) , and klink and dink ) I was wondering:

1. Can anyone advise of a decent orange/red bodied sedge pupa pattern?

2. How should i fish the sedge pupa ?

Cheers

I have had success over here with this simple pupa http://www.flyforums.co.uk/fly-tying...asy-steps.html changing the color of abdomen as required by local fly life (I carry tan, olive and rusty brown).

In my opinion a pupa fishes best when it imitates the natural rising movement of the living insect - so fish a lightly weighted fly up & across the flow on a floating line, let it sink a bit and then stop the line = the leader straightens and fly gently rises to surface. Wham! a big trout should attach itself at about this time
