Default Something for the weekend ?

No Cheesecake ,Victoria Sponge or even Banana bread this weekend, just a small empire biscuit with my piece yesterday.

The four flies i own did the trick. Yesterday it was my local, high sun, very little wind. Fish smutting during the day then at night the sedges came out with a vengeance.

Today somewhere different, not an upwing to be seen. Some folk would call it a stream ,fast runs and pocket water. I only needed one fly

Jeremy Lucus got this one right, i stopped using it, the out of season Grayling seemed to like it too much. Mole, CDC (Thanks WCB) and a wee size 22 Varivas Ultra midge hook.

The trout yesterday preferred this, one of those skittery wee sedges that hang about under trees. HE, CDC and a Varivas 2100 size 20.

And finally today fly care of a Bob Wyatt, the DHE. Its a fly i must admit not to using much but having tied a dozen for someone earlier in the week thought i should give it a go. Tied on a TMC 2457 size 14

Lovely ties as usual Mark, I wish my DHEs looked as good as that, any plans for a SBS?

Sure Serwinbasher, i will charge the camera, I have a DVD of Bob tying it somewhere, i think he has spent too much time in NZ, they are huge big bushy affairs and TBH i struggle to get his to fish properly. I will no doubt muck up the whole concept but show you anyway.

Thanks STD

I'm really getting to enjoy these weekly updates.

Although the sweet feeling of looking at fly porn is upset by the pang of jealousy that comes from seeing such nice work that I'm not really up to

I wish mine did too. Mark tied some for me but the fish keep ripping them to bits. Today Derbyshire Wye: two flies, ten trout

PMSL
You have just revoked your fish catching money back guarantee

I will have to work on an inbuilt obsolescence, 5 fish on one fly is not good business

Delighted they are working Ennio, and on such a posh river. Thanks for the report.

Lovely flies Buzz.

Do you use CDC a lot for the wings of sedges, rather than the usual Deer Hair?

Thanks a million.
