Default not sure what to do

as per the title really.

I am not sure if i should sell my fly tying stuff or keep it , the reason to possibly selling it is i reckon i have more than enough flies for a single person to use.

to date i have filled ( crammed is a better word ) a large double box with flies , crammed a smaller single box full , and a single plastic box is again full and i have almost filled 2 small clear plastic boxes with flies as well.
now my tyings are far from perfect and i very much doubt i could sell them and i did not fancy buying more boxes to fill that will end up sitting some where gathering dust.
so i was wandering what use all do when you have boxes upon boxes full of flies lol.

thats just it , i am happy with what i have tied. wets , dries , lures and lures with some more lures. i started tying lures and got hooked at tying them lol.

about the only fly i dont have enough off are buzzers which i had planed in buying enough materials to tie over 200 , and one pattern i have that i would re tie is the claret snatcher other than that all flies i have tied are good enough.
just dont want to end up wasting money on more and more boxes to fill with flies only to never see the light of day. i take all 5 boxes with me as it is lol.

sounds like your as addicted as i am Al lol.

Just a thought - perhaps you should sell them in bulk on ebay or to a local fishing shop. The quality might be better than you're giving yourself credit!

James,
It sounds like you enjoy tying so why stop? It is a great hobby and creative outlet. Every now and then I strip old flies down to the hook and redo them.
How about giving them to fishing clubs, boy & girls clubs, charity events (casting for recovery is a good one). Or maybe just go fishing more? go stand around a few large trees and practice casting, that should reduce your inventory. If it makes you happy keep tying and get a big bucket instead of boxes

My goodness me Mr Darwin sir, you must be obsessed!

The only time I ever did that was when I had a limited inventory of hooks...

4 YES FOUR - I admit my humble background. I had to re-tie on the same hooks as I couldn't afford to buy any at the time.

Man, sounds pathetic - don't it!

i love tying flies , if i am in a mood i dig out the stuff and take the anger out and before i know it i have chilled out and tied 20 flies ( depending on pattern ).

in regards of selling flies i would not have a clue as to where to start in pricing them , i know from the lads on here hand tied flies are going for £1 but i doubt mines would be worth 40p let along £1 lol.
the shop idea would be a complete waste of time especially with the 1 hunting / fishing shop local to me. and the only fishing club that i am aware of i tried to join and was basically refused as i dont have any mates to join up with me and in the past single anglers have not worked.
