Default False Hackles

Hi all, What's the easiest way, to ensure your false or beard hackle is straight whilst tyiing in? Mine tend to wander to the right for some reason.

Best Regards

Default Never thought of thread tension

Thanks again emerger1981, That is something to think on. When I make the initial thread wrap, I make it loose, then look for line up. Should I make this tight then?

What emerger has already said is basically what I do but I find if you trim them to length before you tie them in it helps as sometimes triming off the ends of hackle fibres can cause them to slip.

If you're still having problems, (and you have a capable vice) you could spin the hook round until it is upside down then tie in the hackle as you would a wing.

Turning it upside down is an advantage. That might prove easier, Thanks.
