Default Anyone use Viper Hooks?

I'm needing some dry fly hooks & came across viper - which I think is actually lureflash. They seem to be very reasonably priced at around £1.25 for 25.

Are these light-weight enough do you think, or are they likely to be on the heavy side? My dryflies are wannabe nymphs with or without gink

I don't know Viper hooks. Look at Kamasan B170's Tackle and Tying has them for £6.50 per 100. TMC also makes good hooks, but can be expensive in small packs.

O'Reilly's had Kamasan's for £5.00 a 100, but no longer on site, might be worth a call. Geoff Cherret has a few patterns of Kamaasan hooks left at £4.95 x 100

you cruel swine Weight Forward, wouldn't wish viper hooks on my worst enemy lol, seriously though I found them to be soft metal. straightened very easily. Don't see why guys would want to scrimp on hooks though, the most important peice of tackle you can buy and they cost pennies

I haven't used them to be honest, they were in a bundle of stuff donated to me from a guy at work who was giving up tying. I don't like up eyed hooks, they don't look right to me.

That's very nice of you weight forward, thanks! But, I wouldn't want you to go to all that effort only to find I wont use them. If they have a tendancy to straighten I would end up not using them!

I'll just go with Kamasan, the rare occasion a fish takes an interest in my pathetic attempt of a fly - I'll have to be ready!

So cheap hooks are a no no - noted!
