I couldny catch a fish on a Green Peter to save my life, however a lot of you guys on here have convinced me that it should be possible.Decided to give it one last chance...since its sedge time....
Binned all the old duffers in my box and tied up some fresh ones using picric deer for the muddler head.Whats the chances of it curing my phobia of Green Peters.....

Nice one mate , that is near exactly the same as what I have been using as top dropper for the last while apart from my muddler head WOI golden olive

Should kill a few with that no worries .

PS: also fish one on the point if the fish are right up , #10 on top and #12 on point .

Cheers Stuart.....is the GP a pattern that you have much success with.It reminds me of a Welsh fly called the Concoction by a guy called Son Owen.

Cheers Danny...it was largely your superb Peter variants which made me realise that it isnt such a bad looking pattern after all and that it was time to upgrade the sorry looking efforts that were festering away in my box....

What sort of sedges do you have on your waters mate? Do they have green bodies? The cinnamons on Rutland and the longhorns on Pitsford and Eyebrook are green so the Peter in tweaked guises work well on their day. I mainly use sparse ones on the middle or point. Here's a wee one I've been using recently and had a few on. I went for the wingless option and TBH it's done well on the top although it's had a couple on the middle, behind a muddler.

Here's the muddler it was behind, not a Peter but..

They're a bit tatty as they were dragged out the box for the photo.

Jim, just don't call it a Green Peter... re-name it if you must, just get all thoughts of Green peter out of your head... and it'll catch

Almost forgot... here's mine for what it's worth mate....

Aye.....well that probably sums up the reason I don't choose to fish the peter too often Eck.The bulk of my local sedges are grousewings, great reds and some cinnamons.....none of which have the grass green body of the GP.However that doesny stop others catching on it...it seems to be an attractive pattern to trout for other reasons aside from pure imitation.

Well as Rob says, just call it a Kate McPeter and, confidence restored, you'll be sorted.

Click the image to open in full size. Jeez! There's no help for you now Jim save a trip to the analysts. You're a very, very sick puppy.

I was going to crawl off to the pit but I'm worried about collagen, saline implant and tabloid scandal induced nightmares. The horror...the horror.
