Default Half hog hoppers

I thought i might as well join the band wagon too.

This forum is great for some inspiration and ideas and there's loads of lads that make an effort to share there tyings. Half hog hoppers seem to be on the go a fair bit this last few days so here's a few i tied today.

I'm not too sure about the dyed partridge for legs on the bibio but i do like the rib on it and the claret one. You cant really tell from the pics but the rib is hot orange utc with mirage glued around it which gives quit a nice effect and should last a good bit longer than a plain mirage rib.

As much as i like hh, you cant beat the full grown version, this one being my favourite

Cheers Thorfinn

I'll echo that Thorfinn....a refreshing change from the "keep it under yer hat" mentality....

Aye, pearl over red or orange looks great. My mates and I had a series of flies which were ribbed with glo-brite 5,overlaid with pearl. They were successfull but as you say,not very long lasting.Never thought of glueing mirage to wire.......sounds a bit painstaking and fiddly.I could see me getting in right old mess......

Great flies BTW.....
