Default budget fly tying vice

Hi everyone. I have recently started tying again but the old sunrise AA is driving me mad as it just isnt up to the job anymore. I have a low budget of upto £50 and have been looking at some Snowbee vices. Are these any good?? any ideas put in would be greatly appreciated.

If you search this forum for vise you will see lots of similar request & answers.
My advice is to take your time and make sure your happy with your decision. Buyers remorse sucks!

hi pos21, the snowbee flymate vices are very good i have one myself ,but dont buy the ball joint model as they are prone to breaking at the joint ,i have the standard pedastal and its not let me down

I will second the Snowbee Flymate, a good vice for the money. Has a couple of niggling faults, one with the ball joint but no need to buy that but other than that first class. Holds the hook well & easy to work with.
Tight Lines
PS The rubber O Ring tends to perish fairly quickly but a few pence at B&Q & new O ring fitted.

My fly tying teacher recommended a Regent vice, he is a professional tier and uses those. I think it cost £25 quid...

I really like mine, I was given a far swankier vice with a pedestal one Christmas, and actually I prefer the regent as the jaw opener thingy is much nicer to use.

I think it might be called a veniard no.4 now.

Vices --- Wharfedale Angling Classics

I'd give Steve a ring there as well, a lovely lovely man, full of advice.
