Default Where do you tie your flies?

Hi All,

This last winter I returned to tying my own flies again after a break of some 20 years. The problem I have now is that the " Domestic Engineer" has started giving me some hassle because a few feathers and thread are falling on the lounge carpet under the dining table where I have been sitting.(It seems to block the hoover thingy up) whatever one of those is! I have now struck on a master plan! I have bought a new garden shed and I am currently kitting it out as my tying station including a powerfull ghetto blaster and flat screen tv with DVD player combined. To view the tying instructions from other likeminded people of course!

I have had to redesign the wine rack to fit on the workbench.

My question is,Where do you all occupy to carry on with this pleasurable pastime without too much hassle?

Picturepete.

Two places. At my 'roll top' fly tieing desk, or a small 'portable' one sitting on a TV 'dinner tray' in the front room (watch TV and tie).

My Hoover works just fine in sweeping up the flotsam and jetsam.

Default Domestic engineer training

An elderly very well known Scottish luvvie was allegedly to have said that every domestic engineer deserves a good slap from time to time. I would avoid such action as they all seem to have sharp things in their tool collections, stick to your hut mate, removing a pairing knife, ladle or any other such domestic implement from your perching area sounds not only unpleasant but i reckon should be on another kind of forum.

I too occupy the garden shed. nothing so luxurious as to have a television or a wine rack but it has one thing.............. a bolt on the inside to keep out unwanted visitors

I was setup in the garage until it got hot. I then moved to my office but that was abandoned because I thought it was to dark and crowded. So I moved into the brightest room in the house that I did not really use, the dinning room. Life was great there, close to the back yard, kitchen, stereo and TV. I thought this was a great idea until my girl friend decided no. I really did not care about her opinion as this is MY house. You know a man and his castle and all that... I thought I had won the battle until she reminded me that she was more fun to play with than hooks and feathers. So I have been exiled back to my office, until winter.... I guess I need a proper garden shed with an air conditioner and a lock on the inside.....

I must admit I have not fitted a bolt yet! It could make it difficult for my coffee to be delivered as and when requested! I might fit an air conditioner though!
