Default Warm, late evenings = sedge

Two patterns for these warm, late evenings. One with a CDC wing and another with Elk:

Hook: Varivas 2200BL #18
Thread: Sheer 14/0, tan
Abdomen: Porcupine quill
Thorax: Squirrel
Wing: Either CDC or Elk

Like the two of them Dave,where did you get the porcupine quills?and are they tough?

Lovely dressings - very tasty!
I especially like the quill body when viewed from underneath in the 2nd photo.

Your flies always do it for me Dave.
I partiularly like the Elk hair one, I could see that doing mischief here on the Eden.

Thanks folks.

Porcupine quills (or correctly, these are guard hairs sent to me under name 'quill') are from the US. They are very tough and are pre-soaked. Nice material.
