Default Sedges ?!?!?!?

Hi all, I`ve had a problem with sedges for years now. I`ve tried many a dry pattern but the rainbows on my local water have a preference for the emerging fly and I`m sure the rising pupae. I`ve made an emerger pattern up that I've been using on the river with much success. I'd like to use this on the still water I fish but actually getting a sample of the pupae to copy is easier said than done. My question is this. What colour pattern and size would you go for to imitate the hatching pupae? I've checked a few books including Matching the hatch and a bright green seems to be the colour. Would this cover the majority of species likely to be found in the North East? Any suggestions would be much appreciated and any links would go down a treat.

Many thanks,
Jay.
