Default How do I get in touch with StoneFly

Hi All,
I have looked everywhere on the net and can't find StoneFly anywhere. I want to write to them to send back there Bobbin Holder. I don't want to take it back to the retailer where i bought it, I want to send it back to Stonefly. I went to put a Uni-Thread bobbin onto the holder and it snapped like a twig on one of the arms/legs, no force was applied. There fly tying tools are not cheap and i expect them to last more than a couple of months. Can anyone tell me where they are?
Thanks
Ian

Ian,

Just googled "stonefly flytying tools" - this was the second result listed:

STONEFLY - Fly-Tying Tools

Also - try the search facility on the forum - you will find many posts regarding stonefly tools - sorry to say most are not very positive!

Best to steer clear of the Stonefly range ...

Kind regards

Despite all the warnings people still buy these tools.

Do not buy Stonefly fly tying tools. In general these are not worth it.
The bobbin holder in particular is prone to snapping. & they must know the problems by now & despite that they still continue to sell them.

The only tool in the range that's worth using is the curved razor blade trimmer for deerhair, as sold by fly tying boutique.

Thanks for all your help. I just feel that the more people write about their poor quality products sooner or later someone at Stonefly will get the hints.
By the way I have purchased a Stonfo Bobbin Holder and it is extremely well made and i am about to order the larger one.

Regards
Ian

Stonefly Tooling was all designed and made by Greg Holloway of Hopkins and Holloway - google up and let him know - he is a very decent bloke and doesn't need ( being the very last UK Flyfishing tooling and flyrod ringmaker maker ) much more duff commentary to put him out of business and he will undoubtedly take the time and trouble to sort you ( and the job ) out .

Be fair

The Stonfo bobbin holder is a cracker.

I appreciate what Steve is saying about Stonefly but surely the designer must know how truly **** some of their stuff is? The bobbin holder in particular is an epic fail - I didn't even bother talking the last replacement back because I was too embarrassed! Saying that, I do like a couple of the magnetic-based products such as the fly patch.
