Originaly I was going to be tying these up and attaching them to a length of mono as mackrel feather rig but now I think I may just try them on their own and see what happens. Maybe someone can help me name them!
the first one is should be obvious as a basic mackrel feather type.
Ingrediants:
Thread: Red Uni-thread 8/0
Hook: Size 10 long shank.
Body: Unithread Mylar tinsel
Wing Wing Marabou strands is a few lenghts of krystal flash.
The sides are made from Flashabou Mirage flat sheet. Looks pink here but the colour changes with the surroundings and light sources. Goes blue under white LEDs.
This next one is basically the same concept taken a step futher. It is basicaly 2 flies joined.
Thread: Unithread 3/0 Glow
Hooks: size 10
Rear hook dressed with mylar tinsel over a bed of glow thread in touching turns. Sparse bright green marabou on upper ing with small piece of blue/green barabou below. Attached to front hook by 10lb trilene blood knok on rear hook. Unfortuantly I secured this incorrectly and have opted to shear the rear hook at the bend just before the thread (not pictured) so it is now only a mobile tail but my next attempt would be to nail knot onto the front hook and use some briad instead of mono.
The front hook is touching turns of glow thread. with a silver oval tinsel rib.
Wing is a large clump of white marabou and a few strands of krystal flash.
Side is again a scrap cut of mirage sheet. The top of the head has red nail varnish then varnish with clear over full head (hence the slight bleed of colour). When charged the entire body length has glowing segments which are visble underneath at the sides and a little at the top.
Right guys let me have it
