Question What hooks for sea trout flies ?

I am using Kamasan B180 low water salmon for my medicine type flies in 8's and 6s but the eye being folded back (not familiar with the proper name type) seems to ad a bulk to the hook front around the thorax area .Probably not making any difference to the fish but having to bulk up a slim dressing to cover this area bugs me.I am allmost out of hooks so will be buying soon. What hooks do you guys use for your medicine style (low water) flies and while Im at it what about the Stormfry lure hooks ?.The pools I fish are normally 4-6ft with snags so hooks with wide gapes and light/med heavy are the order of the day.

Try a Partridge YD4A if you don't get on with lump headed salmon hooks, they're wide gape and have a long shank.

4x shank Kamasans B800 are cheaper and very similar but exert more of a lever - they make great hair wing patterns.

I reckon you might be right there Stu,damn the expense I say .
Would I be right in thinking that the Wilson (01) is a lighter hook than the salar (N)

Though they both (appear) to be made from the same gauge, the Salar has a much more flowing curve, with the straight part of the shank a lot shorter than a Single Wilson. Size for size the salar is slightly longer too. The fly just looks better tied on a Salar imho.
