Default Some small(ish) nymphs

I have started fishing a tiny little stream for little wild brownies (biggest so far half a pound) and they seem to like their tiny little nymphs so I tie these flies in sizes 18-20. I would like to go a bit smaller can anyone recommend a decent hook?

This one has taken a few tiny grayling as well as a few browns (and one dace)

A little Baetis imitation that has yet to catch me anything

And my go to size 20 little black PT

Any comments and improvements/criticisms would be cool as I am always learning and hopefully always improving!!!!

Just a question Dan, do you not loose a lot of fish using the Varivas 2120 WB?

I wouldn't say i lose any more fish than I do on the partridge hooks i also use, I will keep a check now and try to see if there is a problem. Are they renowned for being bad?

I have not found a problem with them straightening or dropping out once a hook is set, but i do miss a lot of takes, although i just put this down to small grayling/dace which abound in the stream i tie these for.

Dan

Edit: just noticed the loop of thread round the hook now it is annoying me something rotten lol

try putting a holographic foil on it as a top shell over the thorax..it does work wonders on my tiny flies....AW

Thanks Dan, yes i find i loose fish with those hooks and the Varivas 2200.
I am fussy as hell about hooks, maybe its the way i fish as a lot of people i know and respect use them, just trying to do a staw poll.
Having said that in my experience and others i fish with the 2200 does straighten too easily.
Its nothing against Varivas, the TMC 103bl suffers the same straightening problem IMO.
Thanks again for the information.
Mark
