Default Hummungus....original pattern

I remember seeing a thread a while ago about original pattern for the Hummungus.....but cannot find it now.

Does anyone have the pattern/pic please?

The Diptera web site has a lot of useful patterns and step by steps, here's theirs. Tying Instructions for the Humungus Lure
I think the original was gold though.

that looks like a 'Bow River Woolly ******', but with bead eyes...guess it is just one of those variants..........AW

......boy didn't know that the flies name would be censored.....pffffffffft!

If you tie them with the eyes on the top of the hook will the lure not swim upside down?

I think the diptera site shows the original version created by Jock Hodge, the eyes do not turn it upside down. Davie Downie at flyfishingworld popularised it and will know for sure.

YES!! In my experience they defo swim upside down! Not sure if its intended or just an oversight.
