Default Double "hot spot" Damsel

Hi Guys

I was playing with Kamasan B270's again and came up with this a variation on my very sucessfull "Lite damsel" which had proven a killer on wild browns and Rainbow alike

Although on the double i added a oval french silver rib and chartreuse floss cheeks to add to the hot spot head ....................

Well i fished it twice last week on a local stocked brown trout water caught a perch "first cast" followed by another perch second cast ! and another on my forth cast ! Good thing i love perch ! Dad and i where laughing how the perch liked my new pattern .........i said just wait till i catch a pike .............well you guessed it within 2 minutes i hooked played and landed a 3lb pike Sadly no trout seem interested ?

Used it on the same water a few days later hooked into a much much bigger pike reckon 10lb mark anyway my 6lb maxima was no match ........ it took another two perch but sadly no trout.

Im sure it will take trout but the perch sure liked it, i shall have to see if the canal perch feel the same. I have to say i was a little suprised that the pike liked it so much there were 1000's of fry all around the boat when i hooked into both pike ?

Is that because you want to catch perch and pike?

Did I say I wanted to use it for perch and pike? I fish for rainbow so therefore
I will use it for rainbows tied on a single hook.

It has a bit of a perch-fry look about it, with the olive, the banding and the flash of red. Perhaps the predators took it for fry rather than nymph?

Nice tie anyway.

Good point mate ! I had'nt looked at it that way but now i see what you mean

I love catching perch on the fly little stripy blighters just make me smile every time i catch one ! Often brighten things up in between trout.

But i also target perch solely on some trips, didnt mean to hook pike on 6lb mono
