Default See what happens when your fly tying gets too realistic!

I loved this story - sent to me by a non fisher:

Realistic life size replica insects published in Atlas of Creation

(These are not my tyings by the way - I'm rubbish!)

Creationists do themselves no favours at all do they lol. You would think someone who supposedly knew enough about entomology to use specific examples in a case against evolution would know that very few insects possess chemically sharpened, barbed metal points sticking out of their thoraxes (sp?) or abdomens. I would love to know why god decided that his creations would benefit from these unusual appendages.

They do make me laugh sometimes.... mainly at them it must be said.

On the fly tying side I have seen that website with wonder in my eyes beforem his bees are breathtaking, I think they have been used as models in films before. How much use they would be on the river I am not sure but that makes them no more impressive.

Graham Owen is an amazing artist. Look around his site, great photography and flies. He has a side business of making realistic bugs for movies. And he loves fly fishing.

Very clever I will grant you but I wonder where fly tying stops & arts & crafts begins
Sort of Blue Peter of the tying world. Clever stuff but totally useless for fishing, so why do it.

There are three more sections of 'go to's;' all jaw dropping ties.
