Default TUSCANY what flys?

has anyone fished in tuscany or have an idea what nymphs,bugs and drys to tye?

The Italians fish a lot of CDC emergers, they have most of our flies, Olives , Caddis and small midge as well as some big Stones Flies.
CDC and Elk and F flies would be my starters.

If your fishing the chalk streams don't ignore the edges, for some reason (Dark bottom = less obvious?) the fish lie on the line where the current is not strong enough to wash away all the debris and often within 6 inches of the bank.

There was an article about fishing in italy in one of the fishing mags not so long ago will look it out and see what it says.

Jees, my trips to Tuscany (this time of year) involved trying not to drop dead from the heat - earlies and lates I reckon mate.

  • Olives
  • Mallard and Chianti
  • Suspenda Buzza
