Default Black Sedge

Sorting out some sedge patterns and realised ive no black, so decided on this one with claret body and my usual green tag.

Sedge/ caddis one in the same....green butt or tag comes from female laying which i actually witnessed happening for real when i was out fishing a lake arround 17yrs ago and have seen again since...so i tye the green butt on mine ever since then and it works for me.

Hi Daniel,....i based my first sedge on a green peter pattern and stuck with it ever since,...i wont bore you to death with it as i have taken alot of bad sh!t from folks for being honest about my fishing...anyhow some pics of fish caught on this idea which i could add numorous but again i dont wish to bore you.

I can understand the purpose of the green tag,but the colour of the actual fly is not that important it is the silhouette the fly casts because the fish are looking up at the fly or have i got it wrong?

Sorry Geordie, but had to take Nantuc out for her morning walk..and the excitement of watching her stock three rabbits..

..anyway..not bored of either the flies or the fish porn, it seems that the names, and styles of the flies we both use are different, yet the same..example..the flies you are tying and calling them sedge [caddis] are different as to what I would use as far as style is concern..my sedge [caddis] would be more realistic, or the opposite by going all CDC..or..go to the extreme with using elk/deer hair wing..as a 'stimulator'..which is what I enjoy using as my indicator trailed by a nymph...

..nice fish by the way, our browns, for the most part here out of the Bow, are the Scottish specie, to me the dull coloured , compared to the German brown..but that bow of yours is a beautiful hen..........AW
