Default A couple of variants

Well, sort of. A bit of a stretch but there we go.

Green Peter variant.

Hook: Yorkshire sedge, #10-12
Thread: UNI 8/0, brown
Body: Mix of golden olive, insect green, pale olive seal and caddis green ice dub.
Rib: Lagartun oval gold, sml.
Body Hackle: Whiting furnace hen.
Wing: Duck dyed medium ginger.
Hackle: Brown hen (long).

Invicta variant.

Hook: Hayabusa 761, #10-12
Thread:UNI 8/0, brown
Tail: GP body feather, yellow.
Body: Old gold seal.
Rib: Lagartun oval gold, sml.
Body Hackle: Brown hen (long) stripped down one side.
Wing: Cock Pheasant secondary, rolled, one strip each side.
Hackle: Cinnamon GP body feather, from wing root.

Once dressing is complete stroke the wing and hackle from head to tail with velcro to merge them together.

Two crackers there midlander,the invicta variant is an absolute stonker! I can see that one seldom off my cast this summer.

As usual 2 supreme examples of the fly tyers art & ingenuity. Did the idea for the first ones style come from Spey type tyings by any chance ?

Looks like a Bob Carnhill influenced pattern to me , I like that one ,ok like them both ,masterful work as always!

Andy, it could well be. I know Alex is one of the few tyers who does Bob Carnill's pattern, it may be based on his Shredge fly.

Nice flies as usual Eck.....Green Peters are invisible to trout when I fish one though mate.My local sedges are a different colour.......large Reds,Cinnamons and chocolate brown where I fish.

The Old Gold Invicta would do a job though for sure....
