Default Squirrel tail versus calf tail
Some bonefish patterns I want to tie call for calf tail. I'm out. But I do have some squirrel tail in a nice colour. Are the properties of each too different?

Calf is obviously a bit stiffer & with a different texture, it will dye just as easily as squirrel. Can't see any reason why not, you could add some bucktail to it if you want a slightly more resilient finish.
