Default Name Your All-time Favourite Bonefish flies

I'm thinking of ducking off south for a few days. So this morning I was tying up some Gotchas (Craven style) and hot pink Mini Puffs. I guess I need to add some Crazy Charlies as well. I'm also having a nosey through some photos that Mark Nicoll sent me some time ago. But I was just wondering, what are people's all-time favourite/most successful bonefish flies?

(if I head off, it will be to South Andros)

Quite a few years ago I was tying bonefish flies for a guide, his favourites were gotcha's & Crazy Charlies. Unlike most other guides, he very much preferred off-white Kraft fur rather than just white.

Cheers guys.

SL, great website. Interesting because when I was last there, the smaller sizes did better. But tan was definitely the order of the day rather than pink - except in the case of a pink Mini Puff.

My most succssful Bonefish fly ever was a Crazy Charley with a gold body and big brass dumbbell eyes with some gold tinsel in the wing, but we were fishing in fairly deep water most of the time and needed to get down.

It seems that you need a variety of weights and sizes rather than colours,
As a general rule, light colours over light sand and dark colours over weed, but size and weight is more important.

Check out my bonefish boxes in the "members fly box thread"

Cheers
